After graduating from Karadeniz Technical University Faculty of Medicine, he started his specialization in the Department of Urology at Ege University Faculty of Medicine, and became a Urology specialist in 1993. He worked as a lecturer at different universities and training hospitals. He became a professor at Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa, Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, Department of Urology, and still works as a faculty member at the same university.
